Watch The Video For Queuejumper

Apr, 2019

Form an orderly line please!

We're proud to present the video for Queuejumper, the lead track from the upcoming album Office Politics.

Inspired by a near miss on the M4 in Ireland, Queuejumper was described by the Sunday Mirror as "Classic Neil Hannon - a xylophone driven jolly pop tune matched with biting, satirical lyrics.. It is ridiculously catchy."

The Sunday Times said "A song whose jauntiness cannot disguise the rage and contempt that fire it."

Robin Murray of Clash Magazine wrote in his review: "The Divine Comedy's 'Queuejumper' video is a Joy!"

".. The video was directed by Jack Lightfoot for Blindeye Films, and the team aimed for that raw, home made feel that dominated classic clips from the late 70s and early 80s - the early MTV era, coming out of new wave."

Director, Jack Lightfoot added: "We were keen to authentically recreate that 1980s TV studio look, and decided to shoot on a three-tube analogue camera - the Sony BVP3 - to capture all those magnificent video imperfections!"
