Exciting News For 2025.
Dear friends,
So here we are, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Everybody’s having fundamental disagreements.
It’s time for my yearly Christmas message. Not unlike the Pope or the Archbishop of Canterbury. Or Spotify’s Wrapped thingamy. Which for me is always a little embarrassing; Spotify insisting as it does that I am a massive fan of The Divine Comedy. When all I’ve been doing is trying to remember how my songs go before a run of gigs.
Like those we did in Spain, Italy, Ireland and Sheffield. Thank you to all who attended. I enjoy all our shows (no, I really do), but I particularly loved the Madrid gig. Small but rocking! It very much made up for almost melting in the 40 degree heat earlier that day.
My recent foray into the world of motion pictures continues to cause pleasing repercussions. 'Wonka' went exceedingly well. I still can’t quite believe I was attached to anything that huge. I’ve since seen the videos of tiny tots singing my chocolatey songs, and the world-weary Hannon eye never fails to moisten. Then there was the slightly less huge but equally inventive 'LOLA', which to my immense surprise got me a lovely gong at the IFTAs. Do check out the film if you haven’t already.
Lastly I’d like to share some exciting news with you all.
A NEW ALBUM IS ON THE WAY! (Not another one…)
Recorded in Abbey Road, it should be with you late 2025.
Not to mention a fulsome touring schedule. Stay tuned for details.
And on that bombshell it merely remains for me to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and peaceful New Year.
